HIGHS

High quality recording, top notch musicianship, excellent compositions, great dynamics, very smooth and danceable.

LOWS

It swings and it sizzles, but I felt there were some screaming solos wanting to jump out. Having seen the band live many times, the album lacked that edge and cut-loose freedom with which I'm usually spoiled.

BOTTOM LINE --

If you're looking for something cutting edge and outside, you're on the wrong side of the track, Jack. If you've had enough of the inferior quality zoot suit neo-swing with which we've been inundated and you're searching for some of that smooth pro swing sound to accent your style, then this is the album for you.

OVERALL RATING -- 10

EVERYBODY'S TALKING 'BOUT MISS THING!
**CD Review**

IN A NUTSHELL

Excellent compositions, very well balanced and clean recording. Just about all that was missing was the clink of martini glasses and random night club sounds. Every song classifies as danceable and definitely caters to and encourages those slow and sexy swingouts.

Miss Thing is a welcome cry from the all-too-common garage neo-swing bands that popped up faster than did 7-11's in the mid-70's. I found the sound quite refreshing and it's definitely a cut above the rest. Lavay dishes out plenty of sexy and sultry material to keep you coming back for more.

There are some really beautiful jazz solos sprinkled throughout, providing just enough spice to wet the palette.
